About Me

Hello! I am a deeply compassionate and pragmatic therapist, supervisor and consultant. My collaborative approach balances processing emotions and building new coping strategies that help you make changes in your life. With 20+ years of experience, I understand awareness is not enough to make the changes we long for. We often know the ways we want to change but can’t figure out how to make those happen. I help you take that awareness into action via pragmatic and healthy strategies and solutions. I am passionate about helping folks understand themselves better and connect to a deeper understanding that connects mind and body.

I have supported hundreds of clients across a wide variety of presenting issues, contexts, and needs in both private practice and non profit settings. I work from a trauma informed lens with training in sensorimotor psychotherapy, relational gestalt, and social justice. I am able to work with a diverse population and stay steady and supportive to those seeking relief and support for their mental health struggles and needs.

My educational background includes a Bachelors of Psychology from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine Univeristy here in California.

I love this work and could not have picked a better career. It is creative, loving, and full of surprises. Outside of work, I am married with two kids and two dogs. I love the outdoors, the Dodgers, reading/audio books, and spending time with friends and family. All of the photos on this website I have taken on hikes and adventures.

How I Work; Modalities and Practices

I work with adults, couples, and families on issues related to developmental trauma, relationship struggles, and anxiety and depression. Additionally, I have experience working with people in stressful work environments, addiction and co-dependency. Fear, shame and self-loathing that accompanies these issues can be crippling. I help folks connect mind and body; which I believe creates real, sustainable personal change. Starting therapy can be daunting, anxiety provoking, and/or exciting. I will meet you wherever you are!

I have four+ years of training in relational gestalt, three+ years of training in sensorimotor psychotherapy and hundreds of hours of continuing education in marriage and family therapy. Additionally, neurobiology and social justice deeply influence my work to support change and growth.

These modalities help me offer you a range of interventions that I can tailor to you, your strengths and your desires to grow. From someone who intellectualizes everything to someone who is learning how to ground their emotional reactivity; I can support you in growing and changing.

Whether you are struggling in your relationship or family or want to come in individually, I help you learn how to process difficult feelings and create new coping strategies so that your desired changes come true! I offer a variety of techniques and ideas to implement in your life.
